Words From Our Community

@genosahjussi

As someone who has been suffering all his life with mental health, it is nice to be able to have an outlet that allows me, as a person, to grow and become a better me. It really opens my eyes to see that there are so many people in this world that suffer from similar mental health issues and it makes me thankful for what I have. Over the time that I have spent with Project Green Ribbon, I have come to the realisation that self love is something that can be achieved even in the darkest of times when we feel like we have nothing and no one. The Project Green Ribbon Mission and Vision really show that there are many like-minded people within this community, and even other communities, who wish to support each other on our journey of growth and recovery.

Project Green Ribbon has been a huge help to me in my darkest moments. She always made me feel like I still had a chance to leave my footprint on the world. I had just gone through a break up and was kicked out of the apartment. I moved back home and was completely lost. But I went to Project Green Ribbon streams everyday. She was a beacon for better days to come.

When I first came across Project Green Ribbon, I was struggling every day with anxiety. Everyone made me feel welcome right away. It was comforting to have people to talk to that truly understood how difficult anxiety and other mental health issues can be. Many were experiencing the same thing as me and were very supportive. Everybody is so friendly and open-minded. There’s people from all walks of life, battling various mental health issues, and no one judges anyone. It’s a place of support. It’s great to be reminded that I’m not alone.

The Project Green Ribbon community is a safe and welcoming place where we can rely on each other. Here, we can learn more about mental health and be a supportive community to those that need it, and better ourselves mentally in a healthy manner.

I came across Project Green Ribbon when I was at one of the lowest points in my life — struggling with my mental illnesses and feeling suicidal. Everyone there was so supportive and caring and it helped me to see that there were good people I could trust. They helped me have the strength to continue looking for therapy despite my past bad experiences. Now, I'm in therapy and I have a sense of hope and things to look forward to in my life.

@MajorArmstrong

I enjoyed the website and what it has to offer. I like that it’s there for people that need help when they need it and I like being apart of something good for the community.

I feel alone and lost most days. In everyday life, most people are not honest when you ask about anything. "What did I do wrong?" "Is that weird?" "How are you?" Rarely do I get the truth. Everyone is so superficial and has their mask on. Project Green Ribbon helps me see that other people do in fact feel and think the same as I do - I am not alone. It's somewhere I can get honest answers.

@GuardedactorSam

The best way for me to benefit myself is to be there for others. It's impartial with my Bipolar Disorder; it helps me to help whomever I can.
